766. 1995 CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY, 1er Cru La Combe d'Orveaux, Domaine Taupenot-Merme. Burgundy
Alcohol Percentage: 13.5%
Area: Chambolle-Musigny is renowned for producing the most delicate and elegant of all the great Pinot Noirs from the Cote de Nuits. La Combe d'Orveaux is an extraordinary vineyard, situated as it is right next to the Grand Crus of Le Musigny and Clos de Vougeot. Indeed part of the vineyard (belonging to Jacques Prieur) was actually re-classified as Grand Cru Le Musigny in the 1980's
Producer: Romain Taupenot is the 7th generation of his family to run the estate. They are actually based in Morey-St-Denis, which neighbours Chambolle, but have vineyards in several villages. In total they have 13 hectares under vine. The vineyards for this wine are very old - some over 90 years
