From a small portion of the Nackenheimer Rothenberg vineyard in the heart of the Rheinhessen.
Fritz Hasselbach has made the Gunderloch estate famous for its modern, ripe, charming wines. Son Johannes has now decided to take things further.
This patch of Riesling is farmed bio-dynamically and then fermented and matured on the skins (pretty unusual for Riesling), a proportion of it in amphorae.
Dry Riesling that retains lightness and charm but has an extra dimension of subtle complexity. Can also be kept for 10 years.
