2010 POUILLY FUISSÉ, Vieilles Vignes, Domaine La Soufrandise
Alcohol Percentage: 13.5%
Area: The premium region in the Mâconnais area, southern Burgundy, actually spanning two separate villages, Pouilly and Fuissé. The combination of a gentle climate and limestone soil makes for rich white wine which can be drunk young or kept
Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay, fermented and aged in oak (a third new) for 10 months
Producer: The Melin family have just 6 hectares, but spread across 20 parcels of vines, many of them over 60 years old
Vintage: 2010 Outstanding year for white Burgundy
Cellar Potential: Drink 2012-2016
Food Match: Not so big as to overwhelm a fine piece of fish. But something smart like bass, turbot or john dory
Old Bridge Rating: Quintessential Fuissé - opulent without being over-the-top; this has zingy freshness to balance its underlying power
£20.90 per bottle in a mixed case
£19.80 per bottle in an un-mixed case
