437. 2015 BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR, Domaine Lebreuil. Burgundy
Alcohol Percentage: 12.5%
Area: This Bourgogne actually comes from the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune but is labelled as mere Bourgogne Rouge. It's matured half in stainless steel and half in (used) wood, to maximise freshness
Producer: Jean-Baptiste Lebreuil runs a small (14 hectare) estate based in Savigny-Les-Beaune, started by his grandfather in 1935. He farms organically, but is not certified as such. His vines are spread amongst 15 different appellations - a spread of tiny 'parcels' (as is the norm for Burgundian growers) across the surrounding villages on the Côte de Beaune
Old Bridge Rating: This shows the ripeness of the 2015 vintage. It's light and charming Pinot, as you would expect from a Bourgogne Rouge, but there's genuine richness and depth of fruit to back it up
