2425. 2014 PINOT NOIR, Las Brisas Vineyard, Vina Leyda. Chile
Alcohol Percentage: 14%
Area: Leyda is a trendy new source for 'boutique' Chilean whines. A 'cool climate' area - the valley is just 12km from the Pacific Ocean to the west of Santiago - suited to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Producer: Viña Leyda is the name of the winery as well as the valley - others buy grapes from the valley but there's only one estate bearing the name
Cellar Potential: Best while young and fresh but will certainly last for 3 or 4 years
Food Match: Has the richness to match many meat dishes, but at its best with pork or veal
Old Bridge Rating: At this price level this is a Pinot with rare character. Not just soft and fruity, there's a hint of Burgundian earth and spice
