Area: Puglia, the heel in southern Italy
Grape Variety: 50% Syrah, 50% Merlot; no wood maturation and bottled with MINIMAL SULPHUR DIOXIDE
Producer: Mark Shannonand Elvezia Sbalchiero (who have for over a decade run an estate called 'A Mano' in the same area)
Vintage: 2009 the first vintage of this wine
Cellar Potential: Now - 2013
Food Match: Meat - any with a bit of flavour - roasts, sausages, chops, burger (homemade of course)....
Old Bridge Rating: Lively and robust - this is for people who like reds of character, or reds with food. (The Salice Salentino is smoother, softer and easier on its own)
