2010 PEREGRINE PINOT NOIR. Central Otago, New Zealand

Alcohol Percentage: 14%
Size of bottle: 75
Area: Peregrine is located in the Gibbston region of Central Otago, on the South Island of New Zealand. Central Otago has shot to fame as a source of intense and expensive Pinot Noir. The extreme climate (warm days, cool nights) makes for unusually deep-coloured Pinot with expressive dark fruit flavours
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir, aged in French oak (one third new oak) for 10 months
Producer: From modest beginnings in 1998, the label has grown from a ‘virtual’ operation to a modern winery. The winemaking approach, however, has always been along traditional lines with minimal intervention
Cellar Potential: 2013-2018
Food Match: A New World Pinot with the balance and quality to grace a 'Sunday Roast' - drink with well aged roast beef
Old Bridge Rating: Peregerine's style has always been less over-the-top than many C.O. Pinots. Yes there is deep, dark fruit; but they aim for harmony above gutsiness
