2010 CROZES HERMITAGE, Albéric Bouvet, Gilles Robin. Rhône
Alcohol Percentage: 13.5%
Area: Crozes Hermitage is one of the best known areas in the northern Rhône, but also one of the most inconsistent
Grape Variety: 100% Syrah aged in demi-muids (larger - 600 litre - French oak barrels)
Producer: Gilles took over his family estate in 1996. He has 15 hectares, all farmed organically. This is a selection from several vineyard sites on the property, a wine designed to age longer than the standard Crozes
Cellar Potential: 2012-2017
Old Bridge Rating: Even good Crozes can be a bit 'skinny'. This has the stuffing so many lack
Press Reviews: Stephen Brook, Decanter Magazine January 2011: "Dense, plummy nose. Suave and rich, concentrated and structured but fresh and spry. Quite long. Drink 2011-2016"
£20.90 per bottle in a mixed case
£19.80 per bottle in an un-mixed case
