Grape Variety: One third each Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, aged in new French 'barriques' for 16 months
Producer: A 'Super Tuscan' (i.e. international, modern style blend) from the warm, rolling hills of Montalcino, an hour south of Siena. Argiano is a top estate
Old Bridge Rating: Now mature, this is truffley, spicy, complex wine reminiscent of both mature claret and older Brunello. Fascinating stuff and a great match for partridge or grouse
