2010 MALBEC Domaine de Mus. Vin De Pays D'Oc, France
Alcohol Percentage: 13%
Grape Variety: 100% Malbec
Producer: This is a new project by Bernard Julien, who also has the Domaine de Bachellery near Béziers, on the Langudoc coast between Montpellier and Carcassone. This is the the home of Grenache, Carignan and a host of other southern varieties - but not Malbec! Malbec is a minor grape much further west, in Bordeaux and it's the major grape in Cahors, where it produces dense, tannic wine that ages for ever
Old Bridge Rating: More like Argentina than Cahors - this is all ripe damsons and plums, even if the finish does have some typically 'dense' Malbec tannins. Great food wine, particularly good (like most Malbecs) with duck
£8.03 per bottle in a mixed case
£7.61 per bottle in an un-mixed case
