Alcohol Percentage: 14%
Area: From 5 different soil types, but all are un-irrigated vines in the hot, dry fields of Swartland, due north of Cape Town
Grape Variety: 85% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre; aged for 2 years in French oak (but very little new oak)
Producer: Eben Sadie is the most revered and talked-about winemaker in South Africa, breaking new boundaries with new blends and new levels of quality. This is his flagship red, in the style of a serious Hermitage

Very taut and tight on the palate, the most tailored wine of all – Saville Row tannins with exquisitely stitched seams, achingly elegant. A long mineral backbone, yet fleshy red currant and cherry fruit, tangy and pert with a gently earthy undertow. There is a real prancing and life to this wine, a new precision and deftness.
