2011 ST CHINIAN, Les Terres Blanches, Borie La Vitarèle. Languedoc, France
Organic
Alcohol Percentage: 14.5%
Area: St Chinian is one of the best appellations within the Languedoc in the deep south of France. This estate is deep in the wilds, near the town of Causses-et-Veyran
Grape Variety: 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah
Producer: Jean Francois and Cathy Izarn run an 18 hectare estate, fully biodynamic since 1998. Les Terres Blanches is a limestone vineyard, giving a ripe but open style, drinkable young
Food Match: The tannins are not high so this is a versatile choice. Although a casserole might be flattering, a mushroom risotto would be just as appropriate
Old Bridge Rating: A genuine flavour of the deep south. Warm richness and herby complexity. Similar style to southern Rhône but even better value
£12.30 per bottle in a mixed case
£11.66 per bottle in an un-mixed case
