2022 ZIBIBBO, Gagliardetta Vineyard, Curatolo Arini. Sicily

This is from the region once famous for Marsala, in Trapani province, western Sicily. Their website tell us: “the grapes come from a single vineyard, near Camporeale in western Sicily, just east of Marsala. The east-facing vineyard is located at about 350 metres above sea level. The vines are trained with a vertical trellis system and Guyot pruning. The soil is sandy and rich in clay.”

100% Zibbibo (Muscat of Alexandria), gently pressed, fermented cool and matured briefly (for 1 month) on the lees before early bottling.

The Curatolo family have managed the estate since 1875 – one of the few still upholding the region’s reputation for quality and authenticiity for both classic fortified wine and modern still whites.

Beautiful perfume; gently luscious texture; clean and dry finish.
