New World Pinot Noir - BEAUX FRÈRES PINOT NOIR. Willlamette Valley, Oregon, USA

2009 Now finished: BEAUX FRÈRES PINOT NOIR. Willlamette Valley, Oregon, USA

Alcohol Percentage: 14.1%
Area: The north west state of Oregon is (relatively) cool and wet - hence its suitability for the delicate Pinot grape which elsewhere can lose elegance and charm all too easily. This estate is on the Ribbon Ridge in Chehalem Valley, Yamhill County
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir, made in classic Burgundian fashion with natural yeasts, hand-plunged fermentation, matured in oak but little new oak
Producer: Since 1991 Robert Parker and his brother in law Michael Etzel have been making fine Pinot at Beaux Frères. They farm organically, although not registered as such
Old Bridge Rating: Soft, rounded and juicy, but with plenty of earthy spice and complexity. Robert Parker can be proud of the result
