2014 PULIGNY MONTRACHET, Bernard Moreau. Burgundy
Alcohol Percentage: 13.5%
Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay, matured in oak (20% new) for 12 months
Producer: A classic family-owned and run estate (tracing its roots back to 1809) and actually based in neighbouring Chassagne-Montrachet. Brothers Benoit (who looks after the vineyards) and Alex (responsible in the winery) Morey are now in charge. They have around 15 hectares of vines, split between 20 or so vineyard sites, mostly in Chassagne and St Aubin - just this one small parcel in Puligny (it makes a mere 4 barrels)
Old Bridge Rating: Young, of course, but 2014 is a beautiful vintage and this shows the precision and elegance of that vintage already
