2016 CÔTES DU RHÔNE BLANC, Quatre Cépages, Laudun & Chusclan
Alcohol Percentage: 14%
Area: Laudun and Chusclan are villages in the southern Rhône, on the west side of the river, just below Lirac and Tavel. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is just over the water.
Grape Variety: 70% Grenache Blanc, 20% Clairette, 5% Viognier, 5% Roussanne; fermented cool and bottled early to retain freshness.
Producer: Made by the co-operative in the two named villages, representing over 250 family growers.
Old Bridge Rating: Surprising both for its heady perfume and its balance - this is warm climate winemaking and Grenache Blanc can often be a little ponderous. They have here fashioned a lovely, aromatic white for drinking young, at a great price.
