2015 Château DE LA GRENIÈRE. Lussac St Emilion, Bordeaux
Alcohol Percentage: 13.5%
Area: Lussac St.Emilion is a satellite (i.e. neighbour) to the important 'right bank' area of St Emilion, just inland from Bordeaux itself. Famed for producing a soft, round style of claret from its heavy clay soils.
Grape Variety: 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc; 20% matured in oak, 80% in concrete tanks.
Producer: An estate dating back to the 16th century, originally run by monks, now by the fourth generation of the Dubreuil family, Jean Pierre. They have hectares of vineyard.
Old Bridge Rating: Classic, dry claret but with the softness and approachability of all the better Merlot-dominated wines from the 'right bank'.
