Gevrey-Chambertin is of course one of the most important villages in Côte de Nuits, and one of the most consistent. Champerrier is a vineyard just below the “Champeaux” Premier Cru.
60 year old Pinot Noir vines, all de-stemmed, matured in oak (one third new) for a year).
Guillaume Tardy has run this estate, based in Vosne-Romanée, since 2001. It was started by his grandfather who was a vineyard worker for the great Domaine Méo-Camuzet, from whom he was given some vines on a ‘share-cropping’ basis.
Premier Cru quality at a relatively sensible price.
