The Tikveš region is in central Macedonia – and that’s the republic of Macedonia, formerly in Yugoslavia, not Macedonia in northern Greece (but the two namesakes are neighbours).

90% Smederevka, 10% Riesling; fermented cool and bottled young to retain maximum freshness.

The impressively modern winery is called Tikveš, after the region. They specialise in local, indigenous grapes, of which Smed-er-EV-car is the most planted (and also important in neighbouring Serbia).
