2011 Château LES CRUZELLES Lalande-De- Pomerol, Bordeaux (Magnum)
Alcohol Percentage: 14%
Area: Lalande de Pomerol is a 'satellite' appellation to the more famous and prestigious Pomerol region, which is just to the south. In the former soils are sandier (while in the latter they have more clay and gravel) and the style is relatively lighter and less impressive. But the wines are still emphatically 'right bank' in personality, with Merlot dominating and providing easy richness and charm.
Grape Variety: 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet France, matured in 50% new French oak.
Producer: Owned by Denis Durantou, the proprietor of the great estate of Eglise-Clinet in Pomerol, since 2000. The 2 properties are only just over a mile apart.
Press Reviews: "Black cherry, forest floor, pepper and spice, this is a soft, round, delicious red cherry-filled wine" - thewinecellarinsider.com
