2020 CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE BLANC, Mas Saint-Louis. Rhône

Bin:  250

Alcohol percentage:  14%

Area:

Chäteauneuf is of course the big name in the Southern Rhône, but obviously chiefly famous for its broad, rich, generous red wines – only 5% of the vineyard area is white.
Mas Saint-Louis have a single estate of 30 hectares in the southern part of the appellation.

Grape variety:

85% Grenache Blanc, 10% Clairette, 5% Roussanne; fermented and matured mainly in steel but a small proportion (20%) in oak.

Producer:

Dating back to the 1800s, the estate was bought by the Geniest family in 1909 and remains in their hands.

Old Bridge rating:

Full-bodied and lusciously textured, as one would expect; but plenty of freshness and elegance too.
