Chablis is the northernmost region within what we call Burgundy, the cooler weather and the limestone soils being the keys to its uniquely fresh, lively style of Chardonnay.
Vaulorent is an exceptional Premier Cru vineyard, situated right next to the Grand Crus (specifically next to Les Preuses, facing south-west.)
100% Chardonnay, matured for a year on its lees; 80% in steel; 20% in (new) oak barrels.
Gilles and Nathalie have around 50 hectares of vineyard. The estate has been in the family for four generations and is based in the village of Fontenay.
From the warm 2019 vintage, this is riper and rounder than the normal Fèvre style – which also makes it easier to drink young.
