2018 LUBERON BLANC, La Famille Perrin. Provence, France
Alcohol Percentage: 13%
Area: Luberon is the area made famous (in the UK) by Peter Mayle's stories of ex-pat life in rural southern France. It's north of Provence, all beautiful rolling hills and (still) relatively un-discovered.
Grape Variety: 30% Bourboulenc, 30% Grenache, 30% Ugni blanc, 10% Roussanne; mainly vinified in steel tank but 10% fermented in oak barrel; all bottled young (in January) to retain freshness.
Producer: The Perrins are the much-esteemed owners of the great 'Beaucastel' in Chateauneuf du Paper, but also major producers of other wines in surrounding areas, always done to an immaculate and impressive level of quality.
Cellar Potential: Drink young.
Old Bridge Rating: Perfect everyday white - dry, clean, fresh but rounded.
