PINK MOSCATO, Innocent Bystander. Victoria, Australia (SIX 250ml CANS)
Alcohol Percentage: 8.0%
Size of bottle: half bottle
Area: Grapes sourced from 3 vineyards around Swan Hill in north west Victoria
Grape Variety: Gordo Muscat (known in Europe as Muscat of Alexandria); pressed and given just 6 hours contact with skins for colour; fermentation then stopped at 5.5%, to leave the natural sweetness and natural sparkle
Producer: Innocent Bystander was set up by Phil Sexton in 2004 after he sold Devil's Lair in Margaret River. Second time around he could use the wisdom of experience to get everything right: the winery, the image, the quality and the value-for-money. This brilliant innovation is an example of his 'finger on the pulse'
Food Match: Not really sweet enough for pudding, this is a wine for the garden - or perhaps for afternoon tea!
Old Bridge Rating: A brilliant, innovative Aussie take on a classic Piedmontese style. Frothy and fun.
Press Reviews: "Innocent Bystander`s playful take on Moscato d`Asti has a gorgeous floral-edged, talcum powder nose, with a touch of icing sugar and strawberry fruit. That strawberry character continues on the palate, which is off-dry and delicious, with the faintest sparkle giving just a cushion of mousse into a long, refined finish. What fun" - www.winegang.com

“From a really attractive crown-capped 37.5 cl bottle, this just works. It’s pink and sweet and fizzy, with grape and cherry fruit. Simple, fresh and not at all cloying, it’s easy and fun.”
